Vintage Kimiko Highball Glasses by Guardian Glass
A vintage set of 8 Kimiko highball glasses in the pattern called “Platinum Scroll”, offered by Snowdrift Antiques.
This very cool, vintage set of highballs were made by Guardian Service Glass of Detroit, Michigan. They were founded in 1932 and are still in business today.
This set is from the sought after, mid-century styled Guardian line called Kimiko. The pattern is called “Platinum Scroll”. This pattern is named for the fact that the shield and rims are decorated with platinum metal.
Each highball glass has what has become known as the “Guardian Crest”. Each glass also bears the platinum Kimiko mark. This set is from the 1960s.
This 8 piece set is in excellent vintage condition. The platinum graphics are solid and intact. I see no loss of platinum graphics. There is some slight tarnish on the rims, as you would expect at this age. There is no dishwasher haze and no chips or nicks on the rim. These glasses look to have been rarely and carefully. If you are the next owner, never put them in the dishwasher.
A glass measures 5 ½” tall with a diameter of 2 ¾”.
