Vintage 4 Slice Toaster with Mid-Century Style
This is a vintage 4 slice toaster by Toastmaster Inc. from Snowdrift Antiques.
Toastmaster Inc. made one of the first electric toasters for home use in 1921. Since then they have perfected coffeemakers, waffle irons, toaster ovens, blenders and of course toasters.
They were acquired in 1999.
This vintage beauty is the hard to find D133A model, complete with chrome on three sides, a classic faux wood grain face on the front and an orange slide button for dropping the bread. It is advertised as a pastry toaster, but can toast anything that fits in the slots. It has 5 settings for lighter or darker toasting. It has its original sticker underneath. There is also a latch for easy opening to clean out the bottom. This toaster is probably from the early 1970s.
This toaster is in excellent vintage condition. The chrome is remarkable. It is shiny and free of pitting. The wood grain face is in excellent condition and the controls work perfectly. All of the slots toast as designed. I have not tested it for safety.
It measures 8 inches by 7 ¾ inches by 6 ¾ inches high.
This classic toaster will look so good in your mid-century kitchen, you will want to leave it out.
