Mid-century Orange Crushed Velvet Sofa

A vintage orange crushed velvet two cushion sofa with a tufted back offered by Snowdrift Antiques.
 
This vintage sofa doesn’t have a maker’s tag so we don’t know who made it. It is certainly from the late 1960s or early 1970s. It features original crushed velvet upholstery in that classic vintage burnt orange color. It has a tailored skirt and self-welting (matched piping). It has zippered seat cushion covers for easy removal and cleaning and also comes with arm caps for protecting the arms of the sofa.
 
This sofa is very comfortable.  There are springs in the body of the sofa underneath the cushions for firm support.  The cushions are thick and luxurious.  The entire support system is very comfortable as I don’t believe it was sat on very often. It has a high back for support. 
 
This is a sofa of considerable size. It is 80 inches long by 32 deep and stands 31 inches at the back height.
 
The condition of this vintage piece is amazing, given its age. I find no fraying to the fabric, no rubs from wear and importantly, no stains. As I said, I don’t believe it was used very often, or it was covered in plastic, because the condition is remarkable. It has been lightly cleaned and brushed with a velvet brush to refresh the nap.
