Mid-Century Lounge Chair in Walnut

Mid-Century Lounge Chair in Walnut

$0.00Price

A vintage, mid-century walnut lounge chair from Snowdrift Antiques.

This mid-century styled walnut chair has no maker’s marks so we don’t know who made it. That is a shame because it is a beauty. It is most likely from the 1960s. Regardless of its origins, it has classic Danish modern lines. It has flared arms that taper towards the front. The back consists of 6 wooden rods inside a wooden frame. It has 3 x 3 webbing to provide support for the seat cushion.

The footprint of the chair measures 30 ½ inches by 32 deep with a back height of 26 ½ . The seat height measures 16 inches with a seat depth of 19 inches.

This piece is in excellent vintage condition. It is solid in construction with no repairs that I can see. It has some minor, age appropriate wear here and there. It has been oiled lightly to relieve it from the Colorado dryness and the grain is excellent. The foam cushions are supple and comfortable. The webbing is in very good condition with good elasticity. The cushions have been professionally re-covered in vintage style fabric from Knoll’s Soiree collection in the color called “Feast”. The attention to detail is obvious in the alignment of the fabric. See image 7.

This is a beautiful chair with new upholstery that will let it fit right into a mid-century room.
