Mid-century Lane Staccato Dresser and Mirror

Mid-century Lane Staccato Dresser and Mirror

$2,895.00Price

A mid-century Lane Furniture dresser and mirror from the Staccato line offered by Snowdrift Antiques.

The Lane Furniture Company was founded in Altavista, VA in 1912. For decades they were known for their cedar chests.  By 1950 they saw Danish modern furniture imports begin to take hold in households. Over the years, they created new lines to keep up with changing tastes.

The Lane Staccato line is a unique design for Lane pieces and is often admired for its “brutalist” style. The Staccato line was introduced in the 1970s as a response to the brutalist style becoming popular in architectural and interior design. The bold geometric patterns of the Staccato line are created by various size and shaped rectangles and squares. The line is made of walnut.

This is a 9 drawer dresser that provides plenty of storage. The metal drawer rails give smooth opening and closing. It measures 68 ½ inches by 19 by 30 high. The dresser is model 480-05 and bears a serial number of 773001, telling us it was built on October 3, 1977.

The mirror bears the Staccato design down the center with mirror panels on each side. It could be mounted to the dresser but is currently wired to be hung from the wall. It measures 51 ½ inches by 41 ½ inches. It is model 480-06 and was built on October 7, 1977.

This pair is in excellent vintage condition.  There is very minor wear here and there but overall it has been well taken care of.  It was mainly in need of a good oiling to relieve it from the Colorado dryness which brought out the beautiful grain and color.

This is a striking vintage dresser and mirror from Lane with eye-catching style.
