Mid-century Dining Room Hutch by Drexel
A mid-century china hutch from the Profile line by Drexel Furniture offered by Snowdrift Antiques.
Drexel Furniture was founded on November 10, 1903 in Drexel, North Carolina. They are known for high end furniture in a wide variety of styles. In the 1950s and 60s they had several lines of furniture that embodied the mid-century modern style that were popular at that time. Drexel is still in business today.
This hutch is from the Profile line designed by John van Koert. The line was produced from 1955 to 1961. The hutch is Model K35-4 and was made in September of 1955. It has an interior light in the upper section. It also has frosted glass shelves up top to allow light to pass through. Below it has two narrow drawers and a full width drawer below. The top drawer is divided and felt lined. On each side is a door and a storage area with an adjustable shelf. It is two pieces which allows for easy transport. The pieces can be connected in back when in place.
This hutch measures 48” wide by 21 deep at the base by 72 high.
It is in very good vintage condition. There is some minor wear to the right door and the one spot on the large drawer, but nothing significant. See the images. It has been oiled lightly to relieve it from the Colorado dryness.
This is a beautifully done vintage china hutch by Drexel.
