Mid-century Danish Secretary with Chair

Mid-century Danish Secretary with Chair

$0.00Price

A mid-century teak secretary with chair by Dyrlund of Denmark, offered by Snowdrift Antiques.

Niels and Jorgen Dyrlund founded the Dyrlund Furniture company in 1960 in Denmark. Dyrlund's furniture is known for its clean lines, simple shapes, and use of natural materials.

This Dyrlund secretary is made of teak veneer. It has the Dyrlund mark on the inside of the top drawer. It is from the late 1960s or early 1970s. Amazingly, it still has its original key to lock the top desk section.

There are three drawers below for storage. On top, the locking desk front lowers to provide a writing surface. Behind it is plenty of storage, drawers and cubbyholes for organizing.

The matching chair is also teak and made by Dyrlund. It has been professionally re-covered in Knoll fabric with new high density foam. It also bears the Dyrlund mark underneath.

It measures 35 ½ inches wide by 16 ½ deep by 43 ½ high.

This piece is in excellent vintage condition. It is solid in construction. There is some minor discoloration from years of enjoyment here and there but no water rings or significant marks.

This is a beautifully done secretary and matching chair by a well known Danish maker.
