Hollywood Regency DeKor High Back Chairs

A pair of Hollywood Regency styled Dékor chairs by Sam Belz offered by Snowdrift Antiques. 
 
Sam Belz and his cousin Phillip Belz opened a furniture factory in 1933 in Memphis, Tennessee. Over the decades they offered various styles of furniture. The most famous, most enduring and most sought after pieces are from the Dékor line from the 1950s.  These high back Dékor chairs feature a circular form with a spacious rounded seat and are the epitome of Hollywood Regency style. 
 
These chairs retain their original Dékor label in the seat base. They have a tufted back and sides around the seat. The base is wood with wooden legs.  There is wooden oval detailing on the outside edges of the seats. The dark gold fabric is original and appears to be an acetate or acetate blend. 
 
This pair is in excellent vintage condition.  The fabric is free of frays or pulls. The cushions have new plush 4 inch high-density foam.
 
The back height is 47 inches. The seat height is 16. Arm to Arm the seat width measures 26 inches. The seat depth is 22.
 
This is a very cool pair of Hollywood Regency chairs that are getting harder and harder to find.
