Four Teak Dining Room Chairs by Juul Kristensen

A set of four solid teak Danish dining room chairs by Juul Kristensen offered by Snowdrift Antiques. 
 
Juul Kristensen was a renowned Danish furniture designer who initially worked for many design and manufacturing companies in Denmark. His most famous works are designs he created after founding his own company, Juul Kristensen Design, in 1969. Over the course of his career, Kristensen has received numerous awards and honors for his design achievements, including the Danish Design Foundation's Prix d'Excellence in 1974 and the Danish Design Grand Prix in 1987.  He passed away in 2016 at the age of 79. His designs are often characterized by their simplicity and functionality, and by the use of natural materials.
 
This set of 4 dining room chairs are perfect examples of simple, functional and beautiful. There are two captain’s chairs with arms and two side chairs. Each has the “JK / MADE IN DENMARK” logo stamped underneath. This set is from the 1970s.  Graceful lines and beautiful teak wood tell you their origins even if you don’t see the maker’s mark.
 
This set is in excellent vintage condition. There are no repairs or cracks. The teak has been oiled lightly to relieve it from the Colorado dryness. They have new foam and have been re-covered in Knoll fabric. 
 
The back height measures 31 ¾ inches with a seat height of 20 inches.
